This is the kind of entertainment that the internet had in the late 90’s\/early 2000’s. Not political, full of vitriol, not overrun by bot comments, not divisions and raging against the latest -ism of the week. Just fun, intelligent slices of gold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
One of the first would be this sketch called Dungeons and Dragons\u00a0(also known as\u00a0Summoner Geeks<\/strong>\u00a0or\u00a0Attacking the Darkness<\/strong><\/em>). It was a simple audio comedy sketch parodying the\u00a0Dungeons & Dragons<\/em>\u00a0role-playing game\u00a0experience, produced in 1996 by the Dead Alewives.<\/a> It originally comes from an album of sketches titled\u00a0Take Down the Grand Master<\/a><\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This animated version came about in 2000, when\u00a0Volition\u00a0released a 3D animation test turned promotional video for the\u00a0Summoner<\/a><\/em>\u00a0video game. They cast characters from both\u00a0Summoner<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Red Faction<\/em> to play the different roles from the sketch. The video was included in the game, and can be found by viewing the credits. It was one of the earliest forms of Machinima – even before that was even a thing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
