{"id":1269,"date":"2013-07-06T22:34:03","date_gmt":"2013-07-07T05:34:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mattfife.com\/?p=1269"},"modified":"2013-07-14T14:42:04","modified_gmt":"2013-07-14T21:42:04","slug":"dosbox-bad-keys-and-you","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/mattfife.com\/?p=1269","title":{"rendered":"DOSBox, bad \\, \/, &#8221; keys and you"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I was fooling around with some old GWBasic programs and needed to use DOSBox the other day.\u00a0 When using DOSBox, however, I was getting bad characters for \\,\/,&#8221; and various other keys.\u00a0 This makes using DOSBox almost impossible since you cannot change directories or issue load\/save commands since they need the filename in quotes.\u00a0\u00a0 Yet the solution to this problem isn&#8217;t what you think.\u00a0 DOSBox provides an internal key re-mapper, but it wasn&#8217;t working right and I still couldn&#8217;t get the keys I needed mapped.\u00a0 Often they would just enter blank or incorrect characters.<\/p>\n<p>It turns out the real culprit is a badly selected default Windows keyboard driver.
