For many years, thousands and thousands of them used to roost each night, precisely at sunset, in the <a href=\"https:\/\/birdallianceoregon.org\/go-outside\/swift-watch\/the-chapman-chimney\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/birdallianceoregon.org\/go-outside\/swift-watch\/the-chapman-chimney\/\">Chapman elementary school chimney<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After decades of roosting there and attracting near circus-level crowds that watched them each night, they appear to be <a href=\"https:\/\/birdallianceoregon.org\/go-outside\/swift-watch\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/birdallianceoregon.org\/go-outside\/swift-watch\/\">seeking quieter locations to roost each night on the east side of Portland<\/a>.
