Overall sales are down about 14% compared to last year, truck and SUV sales are down about 30%, with only small car sales being up (way up).  Luxury cars are also down.  Some numbers (these are all the year-to-year ADJUSTED averages &#8211; some articles quote the unadjusted numbers):<\/p>\n<p><strong>Honda (+11% overall):<\/strong><br \/>\nHonda Fit  +73.8%<\/p>\n<p><strong>Nissan (+1.6%)<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"lingo_span\" class=\"lingo_region\">Altima +28.1% (test drove one &#8211; great car for money, great reliability, but a little cheap with interior plastics\/finish)<br \/>\nVersa  +26.4%<br \/>\nSentra +25.5%<br \/>\nTitan  -54.9%<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Toyota (-<span id=\"lingo_span\" class=\"lingo_region\">3.3% overall)<\/span><\/strong><strong>:<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"lingo_span\" class=\"lingo_region\">Camry    -2.6% <\/span><span id=\"lingo_span\" class=\"lingo_region\">(no surprise to me &#8211; these have been way overpriced for some time &#8211; and reliability has slipped)<\/span><br \/>\n<span id=\"lingo_span\" class=\"lingo_region\">Corolla    -7.3% (also overpriced for features)<br \/>\nPrius      +53.8%<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Ford (-18.5% overall):<\/strong><br \/>\n<span id=\"lingo_span\" class=\"lingo_region\">F-Series     -21.0%<br \/>\nExplorer     -38.5%<br \/>\nExpedition  -35.5%<br \/>\nFocus          +43.5%<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>Chrystler<\/strong> (-<span id=\"lingo_span\" class=\"lingo_region\">29.4% overall)<\/span><\/p>\n<p><strong>GM <\/strong>(-<span id=\"lingo_span\" class=\"lingo_region\">12.2% overall)<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reports on car sales are out &#8211; and the results aren&#8217;t surprising, but the numbers are not pretty.
