I guess we all fell victim to one of the classic blunders, the most famous of which is \u201cNever get involved in a land war in Asia,\u201d but only slightly less well known is this:\u00a0<em>Jevons paradox<\/em>:<\/p>\n<div class=\"b_clearfix b_overflow\">\n<div class=\"b_lBottom\">\n<div class=\"b_bgdesc\">\n<blockquote>\n<div>In economics, Jevons paradox occurs when technological progress increases the efficiency with which a resource is used (reducing the amount necessary for any one use), but the rate of consumption of that resource rises because of increasing demand.
