I <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/mattfife.com\/?p=7841\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/mattfife.com\/?p=7841\" target=\"_blank\">wrote about this amazing house here<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/ghibli-park.jp\/en\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/ghibli-park.jp\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ghibli Park<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; location of Satsuki and Mei&#8217;s house along with a forest and other movie inspired attractions.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.japanfortwo.travel\/en\/article\/6117\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.japanfortwo.travel\/en\/article\/6117\/\" target=\"_blank\">Totoro Forest<\/a><\/strong> -In Sayama, Saitama Prefecture is Totoro Forest. It also holds Kurosuke\u2019s House which is Japanese traditional house which was built over 100 years ago. You can see a big Totoro sitting in the house and walk the grounds. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.japanfortwo.travel\/en\/article\/6117\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.japanfortwo.travel\/en\/article\/6117\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">more here<\/a>)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Princess Mononoke<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/662\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/whc.unesco.org\/en\/list\/662\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Yakushima <\/a><\/strong>&#8211; registered as natural world heritage site. You can go there by plane or ferry.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.experience-shirakami.com\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.experience-shirakami.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Shirakami-sanchi<\/a><\/strong> &#8211; world heritage site and it is mainly filled with greenery such as Japanese beech. Ponyo&#8217;s house is believed to be inspired by Naramura Museum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Secret World of Arriety<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.marugotoaomori.jp\/en\/sightseeing-experiences\/seibien\/\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.marugotoaomori.jp\/en\/sightseeing-experiences\/seibien\/\" target=\"_blank\">Seibien (Aomori) garden<\/a> &#8211; Seibien is\u00a0a western style house with Japanese garden in Aomori featured in\u00a0&#8216;<em>Arrietty\u2019<\/em>.\u00a0\u00a0Its garden is counted as one the three greatest gardens of Meiji-era and is an attractive sightseeing spot.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">From Up on Poppy Hill<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The city of Yokohama is depicted in &#8216;From Up on Poppy Hill&#8217; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Yokohama \n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Minatonomieru oka koen (Kanagawa) &#8211; Harbor View Park<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Negishi natsukashi koen &#8211; (The Old House of Yagishita Family) reminds of Coquelicot Manor, a boarding house overlooking the port in the film.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Yamate seiyo-kan (Kanagawa) &#8211; There are 7 western style houses collectively called Yamate Seiyoukan in the area where you can read different edition of Weekly Quartier Latin, the newspaper featured in the film, at each house<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Only Yesterday<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.tripadvisor.in\/Attraction_Review-g1023191-d1647917-Reviews-Safflower_Field_of_Takase-Yamagata_Yamagata_Prefecture_Tohoku.html\" data-type=\"URL\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.tripadvisor.in\/Attraction_Review-g1023191-d1647917-Reviews-Safflower_Field_of_Takase-Yamagata_Yamagata_Prefecture_Tohoku.html\" target=\"_blank\">Saffron fields of Takase District<\/a> &#8211; Taeko travels on her own from Tokyo to Yamagata in\u00a0this animated film.
