3D printed materials with mechanical properties

Researchers from the Hasso Plattner Institute show off unique constructions that have mechanisms built into them via the use of cellular grids. These allow 3D printed materials to have some of the same properties as traditional mechanisms like hinges or gears.

-1 for the truly awful soundtrack though.
